Anastasia Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette - Review, Photos and Swatches
Hi beauties!
Soft Glam is Anastasia Beverly Hill's newest warm-toned neutral eye shadow palette. It's an everyday to night palette that includes 14 shades. Seven of the shades are fan favourites, in other words, repeats from previous palettes or permanent single shadows. The palette features ultra-matte, duo-chrome and metallic finishes to help create softly-glamorous looks. Soft Glam retails for $55 CAD and $42 USD at Sephora and anastasiabeverlyhills.com. If you follow my blog, you may know that I wasn't a fan of the two previously released palettes, Subculture (reviewed here) and Prism Palette (reviewed here). The Soft Glam Palette is said to have the same formula as the Modern Renaissance (MR) Palette which I own and love. Keep reading to find out if Soft Glam lives up to the MR palette.
The Soft Glam Palette is wrapped in the same velvet texture on the outside as the Modern Renaissance palette. This type of packaging tends to get quite dirty after a few uses. Included inside are a large mirror and double-ended brush. I find this palette to be very versatile; there are so many beautiful variations of looks that you can create. You can go from super simple to full out glam and season to season with this palette. The shadows are highly pigmented with no fallout. They blend like a dream leaving each look seeming effortless. Many of the neutral shades are overlapped from the permanent line - Orange Soda, Dusty Rose, Sienna, Noir, Tempera, Burnt Orange and Cyprus Umber. All of which are great crease colours. Noir is my absolute favourite black eyeshadow. I've loved Orange Soda and Sienna since it was first seen the Lavish Palette. The shimmers in this palette apply best with a wet brush or fingertips for a more metallic finish. Otherwise, they are too hard to build. Bronze and Fairy are beautiful gold shadows and are my go-to lid shades from this palette. I also like Rose Pink for the lid which is a soft rose gold shade. The colour payoff of the mattes is superb. Mulberry and Rustic felt a little dense but I had no issues applying them. The shadows lasted about 8 hours of wear without fading.
Shade Descriptions -

Sultry: A hybrid satin metallic finish warm chocolate brown
Bronze: Metallic gold bronze

Cyprus Umber: Ultra-matte dark coffee
Noir: Ultra-matte deep carbon black
Overall, I think this is an amazing all in one palette. There is a good mix of lid and crease colours to complete an entire eye look. For some, it may include too many dupes if you have a wide Anastasia collection. The colours go well together to make a cohesive palette. This is why Claudia Soare decided not to create brand new colours that look similar to ones already in their line. The formula and pigmentation of the Soft Glam shadows are in line with the Modern Renaissance palette. This palette is probably more wearable than the MR palette if you're more into neutral shadows. I would recommend this palette if you don't already own too many neutral shades from the brand. I personally like that all of my favourite crease colours are included in a single palette making it easy to travel with.
Is the Soft Glam Palette on your radar?
