Top 10 Palettes of 2016

Hi Beauties,

As we wind down 2016 and countdown to 2017, I thought I would compile a list of my top 10 palettes of 2016.  This year has been amazing for the beauty industry with so many great product releases and collections and I'm sharing my faves below.  If you would prefer to watch my YT  video on this topic, just scroll down to the bottom of this post.  Each palette mentioned has a dedicated blog post with a full review and swatches that will be linked below.

Top 10:

10. Too Faced PB and J Palette: (Reviewed here)

This palette was released as part of Too Faced's 2016 spring collection.  The packaging is the cutest with a peanut butter sandwich on it.  The palette features matte and shimmer shades with 3 bigger in pan size.  The shades are mostly neutral tones with a pop of colour with the violet shade.   The PB and J palette also has a nutty chocolate scent.

9. Tarte Styled by Hrush Palette (Reviewed here)

Tarte collaborated with celebrity makeup artist Hrush Achemyan to create this limited edition eye and cheek palette.  The palette features 6 shadows, 3 mattes and 3 lustres and a full size blush.  The coral blush is so pretty,  I enjoy using it as a transition colour in my crease.  The packaging is so compact and perfect for travel.

8. Tarte Blush Palette Color Wheel (Reviewed here)

Every year Tarte releases a blush palette as part of their holiday collection.  This years palette has 10 blush and highlight shades; 8 are blushes and the other 2 are highlighters.  It features warm and cool tone shades.  The packaging is so sleek and compact and great for travelling.  I recently took this palette on trip with me and it was all I needed.  No need to pack extra blushes.

7. Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario (Reviewed here)

Mario Dedivanovic, well known as Kim Kardashian's makeup artist, has created this palette with Anastasia Beverly Hills .  The Master Palette contains 12 neutral and Jewel-toned shades.  All the shades are really pigmented and blend like dream.  This palette was limited edition and is currently sold out.

6. Anastasia Beverly Hills Moonchild Glow Kit (Reviewed here)

This Glow Kit contains six sparkly metallic highlighters ranging from blues and lavenders.  The palette was inspired by the movie The Never Ending Story.  Each shade has a pearlescent finish and they are such fun colours to play with.  I never thought I would be into coloured highlighters but they actually look great on my tan skin.

5. Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette (Reviewed here)

Jaclyn Hill and Becca Cosmetics collaborated on another great palette.  I love this one as much as the first Champagne Glow Palette.  The palette features the famous Champagne Pop and a new highlighter shade, Prosecco Pop, which is stunning.  It also has three blushes in tan and coral tones. The white and gold packaging is so luxe.

4. Anastasia Beverly Hills Sweets Glow Kit (Reviewed here)

The Sweets Glow Kit was a web exclusive that came out in the summer.  The palette contains four metallic highlighters.  Sassy Grape and Butterscotch have sparky flecks and that's why they are my fav.  This palette is my favourite glow kit of them all.

3. Huda Beauty Textured Eyeshadow Palette - Rose Gold Edition (Reviewed here)

There was so much hype around this palette as well as many mixed reviews.  I personally like it.  The palette features 18 shades, 10 mattes, 2 chromed pressed pearls, 6 3D metal shadows.  I love the 3D metal shadows, they are stunning and very pigmented.  The best way to apply these shadows are with your fingers.  I'm so glad I was able to purchase this palette during the VIB sale because it's kinda of pricey.

2. Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette (Reviewed here)

The Sweet Peach Palette was released in April for the Summer 2016 collection. The palette was recently re-launched along with whole line of Sweet Peach items.  Of course they all smell like peaches. The packaging has raised peaches in a beautiful ombre effect. The palette contains 18 beautiful peach, pink, bronze, purple matte and shimmer shades. I Love the metallic shades, they glide on perfectly.

1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance  (Reviewed here

This palette was inspired by Renaissance Art with a modern take.  It features 14 shades, 11 mattes and 3 shimmers.  And range from neutral to berry tones.  I love pink, red and orange shades.  The shades are very pigmented,  velvety to the touch and fade resistant.  They also blend amazingly.  The Modern Renaissance Palette is a permanent addition to the brand's line so you can still purchase it.

Do you see any of your favourites?  What were some of your favourite products this year?
