NYX Ombre Blushes
Hi Beauties!
I recently visited the NYX store that opened in Mississauga, ON at the end of last year. I was privileged to attend their pre-launch party but I have not been back since. I’ve had my eye on a few things, so decided make a trip back.
As part of the Spring 2016 collection, NYX launched 8 two tone gradient blushes. Inspired by the ombre trend, these blushes feature two silky well put together shades that can be blended into one gorgeous shade to add depth and dimension to your cheeks. The shade ranges are gorgeous and they remind me of the Mac ombre blushes from the Toledo collection. The blushes retail for $13CND/$10USD and are also sold on NYX’s website. The thin compact is very sizable for that price and it comes with a generous size mirror as well. Below are the three colours I picked up.
Nude to Me:
For some reason this shade really stood out to me when I swatched it. It kind of reminded me of Warm Soul by Mac but it’s darker when I applied to the cheeks. I love wearing nude bronzy looks and this shade is perfect to achieve get that J.Lo glow. The finely milled formula is very pigmented and blendable. This colour might be too dark on some but it is the perfect blush and bronzer combo on my complexion. I use the gold shade as a highlighter base, the darker shade to contour and bronze, and then mix both shades as my blush to create a gradient between the two. It wore for 6 hours.
Soft Flush:
This gorgeous blush starts with shimmery light peach at the top and fades into a matte coral colour. When combined these two shades create a pretty silky coral blush. The pigmentation is amazing; you definitely need to use a light hand when apply it. I would recommend using a duo fiber brush if you have a lighter complexion to avoid packing on too much product and ending up with clown cheeks. This blush lasted about 5 hours on.
Mauve Me:
One of my favourite colours to wear is Mauve and Dusty Rose whether it’s on my eyes, cheek or lips. So when I seen this blush online I knew I had to go back to pick it up. I just purchased this blush recently so I didn’t have a chance to wear it but I was able swatch it for you guys. It has a satin finish and I love the colour payoff. It reminds me of Milani’s Romantic Rose Blush. Mauve me is so pretty and I can’t wait to wear it this spring.
Final thoughts:
As a makeup junkie, these blushes are so appealing to the eye. They’re very pretty and have great colour combinations. . If you love blushes, these are great to have in your collection. There is a shade for every complexion. It’s a great price point for the amount of product and packaging you’re getting. I like that you can mix the lighter and darker shades for a more customized finish. I read some of the ombre blushes from this line are chalky but I have not experienced that with the two that I tried. There could be some fall out if you’re going in with a heavy hand but there is really no need to do so since these blushes are super pigmented.
Anyone planning on purchasing these blushes?
Thanks for stopping by,
Samantha
