August Beauty Favourites 2016
Hi Beauties,
Not to sound cliche but August literally flew by for me. I don't want summer to be over but it's already time for back to school. Most of my favourites this month are newbies to my collection but I've been obsessed.
Here they are:
Anastasia Beverly Hills: Sweets Glow Kit (Reviewed here)
Can we just take a second to admire this kit? It's so pretty! I really like the other highlighter kits from Anastasia but this one is very unique. I'd never thought I would be into colourful highlights however Sassy Grape is my favourite shade from this palette. I usually wear it on top of the Butterscotch shade. You can see swatches of this palette in the original review (link above). In case you missed it, I also have a video up on my YouTube channel illustrating how I put this kit into action (watch video). Unfortunately the Sweets Glow Kit is only available on anastasiabeverlyhills.com. I said this before but I seriously need to get my hands on the Moonchild Glow Kit.
Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick: Bombshell (Reviewed here)
I love the pinkish nude shade and formula on this liquid lipstick. It is my most loved liquid lipstick formula I've tried so far. Bombshell has been my go to lipstick this month and I carry it with me in my handbag. I want to pick up a couple more shades when they are back in stock.
NYX Butter Gloss - Praline
Here is another product I've been loving, not only for this month but previous ones as well. Mine is actually done and I need to pick up another one. I always keep this gloss in my purse for touch ups. I like to wear it over my nude and pink lipsticks as well as liquid lipsticks for extra moisture. See it swatched two pics below.
Tarte So Fine Liner
I'm usually not a fan a felt tip liners because it takes more precision than using a angled brush with gel liner. However, this one is more like a liquid liner that is water-infused and is waterproof. I really like the thin line I can achieve with the fine tip. It helps create a crisp, precise line but it can also be layered for a more dramatic cateye. It dries to a matte black.

Smashbox X-Rated Mascara
I really like the volume this mascara adds to my lashes., they appear much thicker. The formula is not heavy and is buildable but it does have a wet consistency so you have to be careful otherwise you'll get it all over your lids. I received this one as a sample so I can imagine the full size would probably apply much better.
