Victoria Beckham Makeup Collection with Estee Lauder for Autumn/Winter 2017
Hi Beauties!
VB x Estee Lauder's makeup collection is back! After the first successful line, Victoria Beckham has launched her Autumn/Winter collection with Estee Lauder. This collection celebrates "fashion, colour and the evolving nature of femininity". It was inspired by the icon's favourite cities; Miami, London, New York, Los Angeles and Paris. Each collection features looks inspired by the city that bears its name. Ten products have been reintroduced, along with eighteen new products and two limited edition sets. One thing that stands out to me from the entire line is the packaging. Each piece feels so sturdy and luxurious with its black leather casing and gold accents. The Victoria Beckham makeup collection is available for sale at Hudson's Bay, Nordstrom, Holt Renfrew, Saks Fifth Avenue, Sephora and esteelauder.com. Today I will be sharing a few items from different collections that I received along with swatches.
“WITH THIS MAKEUP COLLECTION, I WANT TO MAKE WOMEN EVERYWHERE FEEL EMPOWERED,
BEAUTIFUL AND CONFIDENT. INSPIRED BY MY FAVOURITE CITIES IN THE WORLD, THIS COLLECTION
REFLECTS MY OWN PERSONAL BEAUTY VISION.”
Eye Palette - London Collection - $98
This limited edition palette features four shadows with different formulas. Ranging from a sheer to soft matte to high-pigment shimmer finish. The gel-creme formula feels soft to the touch and blends easily and evenly. The palette is ideal for creating a smokey eye in hues of white, grey, soft-black and Bordeaux. The shadows apply very lightly but can be built upon for a more intense look. I like the light grey shade as it's very unique and looks pretty on the lid. Most grey shades in my collection are much darker. The white shade had some fallout and clumped up in the pan but it looks good as a brow bone highlighter. I found the shadows faded very quickly on the eyes even with a primer. With that said, I was disappointed in the quality of the shadows especially at that price point.
Colour descriptions:
- Blanc (sheer white pearl with a shimmer finish)
- Gris (translucent grey with a matte finish)
- Noir (soft black with a matte finish)
- Bordeaux (deep wine with a shimmer finish)
"For autumn and winter, I have evolved my signature smoky eye with a palette of unexpected shades and new textures that go from matte grey voile to full-on satin Bordeaux."—Victoria Beckham
Cheek Crème: Blonde Mink - Miami Collection - $78
Another limited edition piece in the VB x Estee Lauder collection is the Cheek Crème. It is a lightweight cream blush with a silky texture. Blonde Mink is described as a universal nude rose colour. It looks like a terracotta brown in the pan but applies more as a warm nude blush. I was surprised at how pigmented this blush applied but it sheers out to leave a natural flush to the cheeks. It feels dewy on the skin and not at all sticky. You can use a brush or fingers to apply it. The size of the product is small for the price tag but a little goes a long way.
"This Blonde Mink shade looks great on every skin tone and creates a beautiful sun kissed flush on cheeks. I also tap it onto the center of my lips to highlight and make them look fuller."—Victoria Beckham
Matte Lipstick: Victoria - New York Collection - $65
There are a total of three lipsticks in the entire collection. Victoria is a cool nude that is not too red or yellow. It is a universal shade that pulls more brown on me. It has a creamy texture and leaves a matte finish. When I first received this lipstick, I thought it was a mini lipstick because the tube is small in size. I found it got drier as the day went on and I needed a lipgloss to touch up.
"I love this new nude, it’s a cool-toned shade that is both sophisticated and modern, and now comes in matte."—Victoria Beckham
We can see Victoria has brought her fashion background to this collection from the exquisite packaging and the ready use products. Estee Lauder and Victoria Beckham have definitely created a luxury line. Unfortunely the quality has not lived up to the price tag for me. I would have to say these items are not a must have. This is a bummer as I heard so many great things about her first sold out collection.
Would you splurge on this collection?
Samantha
