Too Faced Chocolate Gold Palette - Review, Photos and Swatches
Hi, Beauties!
I previously previewed the Too Faced Chocolate Gold Collection (here) and today's post is dedicated to the Chocolate Gold Palette, the star of the collection. It's a luxurious gold and cocoa powder infused eye shadow palette filled with foiled shades that are created with real gold. This is the first Chocolate Bar that I’ve been excited for in a while. Prior to this release, there was the White Chocolate Bar Palette but the shades weren’t appealing to me. The Chocolate Gold palette retails for $59 CAD and $49 USD and is available at Sephora, Ulta and Toofaced.com.
The shiny dripping gold on the chocolate bar packaging is stunning. The same design is pictured on the box of the palette. The casing is plastic as opposed to metal like the other chocolate bars but it feels very sturdy. It includes a full sized mirror on the inside. The palette features 16 brand new shades infused with the brands signature chocolate scent. There are metallic eyeshadows that give a high shine finish and four matte shades. The colour selection is amazing; there are warm and cool toned shades. All the shadows are highly pigmented and blend well with little to no fall out. Classy & Sassy and Livin’ Lavish are my favourite shades but there are so many other pretty shades. A few shimmer shades felt rough in the pan whilst others were soft and velvety. I prefer to apply them with a wet brush. Two of the matte shades, So Boujee and Rollin' in Dough, didn’t swatch well but that didn’t translate on the lid. I don’t mind that there are only four matte shades as I prefer metallics. However, I appreciate these mattes for crease colours which makes for a standalone palette. The shadows lasted seven to eight hours. The swatches below were taken with one finger swipe with the exception of the two mattes listed above.
I’m so glad I picked it up the Chocolate Gold Palette. Lucky enough I was able to use my VIB Rouge coupon. This palette is perfect for creating looks for the holidays and special occasions. I’ve worn it on my eyes for Christmas Eve and Christmas day. I’ve also used it to create everyday looks for work. If you haven’t tried any of the Chocolate Bar Palettes, I highly recommend the Chocolate Gold Palette. Not only is the packaging to die for but the quality of the shadows are excellent and long-lasting.
Is this palette on your radar?
