Burberry The Essentials: Fresh Glow - Luminous Fluid Base, Highlighting Luminous Pen and Illuminating Powder - Review, Photos and Swatches

The Essentials collection by Burberry includes must have products designed around the brand's core philosophy of prime, contour and highlight. It features products that effortlessly enhance features to achieve that flawless Burberry glow. Today I will be sharing a few items from this collection, including swatches.

Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base - $54 CAD

This runway beauty icon is a multi use 55 percent water-infused primer. It glides on smoothly and hydrates the skin leaving it naturally radiant. The texture of the base is very light, it's not as thick as most primers. It has reflective pearls that are said to help blur minor imperfections for a shimmer-free, youthful-looking glow. There are two shade options, Nude Radiance No.01, which adds a fresh, dewy glow to any skin tone and Golden Radiance No.02 gives a sun kissed glow. As my complexion is already tan, I don't see that sun kissed glow once the primer is blended in but it does make my skin look radiant.

Apply to nude skin or under foundation to illuminate
Blend into eye shadow, creating a glowing wash of transparency
Smooth onto cheekbones, the bridge of the nose and the Cupid’s bow to highlight

Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen – Nude Radiance No.01 - $42 CAD

I love the concept of a glow-to-go pen. This dome pen highlights targeted areas of the face with precision and ease. It is said to be a universal illuminating shade. It can be applied directly to the skin then blended out with the fingers. This pen is great for highlighting small areas such as the inner corners of the eyes, nose and brow bone. It gives a subtle glow when used on the cheeks. I wish it was a more pigmented as I have to apply quite a bit for it to show on the cheekbones. It's better suited for a base highlight on the face. The size of the pen is ideal for throwing into your purse for quick touch ups. There is contour pens in this line as well.

Fresh Glow Highlighter – Rose Gold No.04 - $72

Ok, I saved the best for last. The Illuminating powder was the center piece of this collection in my eyes. The intricate lace-pattern design is just stunning. There are 4 available shades - White, Nude Gold, Pink Pearl and Rose Gold which is pictured above. The shade Rose Gold is the perfect fit for me. It is a soft gold with warm rosy undertones. The powder is very soft, buildable and blends like a dream. The formula is pigmented and does not emphasize pores. Even with a light hand, the metallic glow it gives is stunning. Let's be honest, I didn't want to ruin the beautiful pattern so the swatch pic was taking using a light hand. You can apply it with a wet brush for a more blinding highlight. It also comes with an angled brush for easy application.

I have to say Burberry's packaging is one of the best with their luxe signature plaid pattern. This collection includes everything you need to recreate the youthful Burberry glow.
