Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipsticks: Spice, Kiss and Soft Pink
Hi Beauties!
Anastasia Beverly Hills has recently added a full range of lipsticks to their line of beauty products. Anastasia has already impressed us with her brow products, eyeshadow palettes, liquid lipsticks and highlighters. Needless to say, I was super excited to try these lipsticks. There are 30 new matte lipstick shades in this collection ranging from nudes to vivid purples, pinks, and blues. The lipsticks are said to have a full-pigment lip color with a smooth, ultra-matte finish. They retail for $18 USD and $23 CAD and I purchased a few to test out. Below you will be seeing swatches for shades Spice, Kiss and Soft Pink.
The bullets come in an elegant shiny black and rose gold casing with the brand's logo printed on it. The pointy tip of the lipsticks is perfect for applying with precision. There is a slight tug when you apply these lipsticks. I prefer to wear a balm under matte lipsticks so this helps with the tugging. Wearing a balm under does cause some transfer but they last while eating light snacks. They apply evenly and has an opaque coverage. They are light weight, wear comfortably for 4-5 hours and are not drying. Some shades are more creamy than others. I personally like to touch up with a gloss throughout the day. I don' t find them as moisturizing as the Tarte Color Splash lipsticks.
Spice - This is my favourite shade of the three listed. It is described as an apricot peach shade. It has warm undertones and an opaque matte finish.
Kiss - is described as a nude rose petal pink. It's a very pretty mild shade of pink and has a semi matte finish with good colour payoff.
Soft Pink - is described as a blushing petal pink. It has warm undertones with a matte finish. I noticed this shade creep up into the lip crevices.
So far I'm enjoying the formula and coverage of these matte lipsticks. I don't typically wear a lot of mattes but these aren't drying but they aren't moisturizing either. I'm actually glad these don't have an "ultra matte" finish as advertised. It was hard to choose which shades to get first because some look so similar to each other. However, I do think there is a great range of shades that will be suited for all skin tones. You can shop the Anastasia Matte Lipsticks at Sephora, Ulta, Macy's and anastasiabeverlyhills.com.
Did anyone purchase these lipsticks?
Samantha
