Tarte Delight Holiday Collection - Treasure Box Collector's Set, Buried Treasure Eyeshadow Palette and Big Blush Book Volume III
Hi Beauties,
It's that time of the year when brands begin to release their holiday collections. Who doesn't love holiday collections and special limited edition packaging? This is my first holiday post for the year, but be sure there are more to come. Tarte never ceases to amaze me with their new launches and this launch isn't any different. There are so many new products from lipsticks to makeup brushes, palettes and gift sets. Today I will be sharing a few pieces from the Tarte Delight Collection along with swatches. There is also a review and swatch video at the end of the post if you prefer to watch it.
Big Blush Book Volume III - $78 CAD
The first two blush books sold out very rapidly, lucky the third one is still available to purchase. The palette features eight all-new full-size shades. There are seven vibrant blushes and one universal champagne highlighter shade in centre which are all limited-edition, vegan, and infused with Tarte's famous Amazonian clay 12-hour formula. There is a mix of bold and neutral matte and micro-shimmers. The circular palette is housed in big cardboard packaging that spirals to open. It is slim in width so it doesn't take up to much space when I place it upright on my dresser. It's actually more convenient for me to store than eight individual blushes. You can actually de-pot the blush pans as they are magnetic and transfer them to a Z-palette. Tarte blushes are one of my favourite formulas out there and these aren't any different. I think this book is a great value as each individual full-size blush costs $35 CAD plus tax so that's over a $300 value.

This set has everything you need to create a full face glam in one place. The pink, purple and gold exotic packaging is inspired by the Tarte team’s travels. This is a perfect gift set for holidays. Included inside are all of the Tarte treasures from eyeshadow, liner, mascara, blush, bronzer and a new lipstick shade. The box opens up on both sides to showcase the cheek products and eye shadows. There is also a compartment on the left that opens to reveal an eyeliner, travel size mascara, lip paint and a mirror. It has a pleasant sweet smell when opened. There is a mix of warm and cool toned shades. I personally prefer the top half of the eyeshadows as they are warmer toned. The shimmer shades swatched very pigmented and smooth. The matte shadows were dry and patchy when swatched on my arm. I haven't tried all the matte shades on my eyes but the ones I've tried didn't apply patchily but they did fade in colour after time. The shimmers are beautiful and stand out much better when applied wet. I'm pleased with both the blush and bronzer shades. I find them to be universal and they are very pigmented. The highlighter, however, was a disappointment. There was almost no pigment and it doesn't show on my skin. I don't think it would be a great highlight on fair skin tones either unless you're really into a very subtle highlight. I absolutely love the lip paint shade in Grand. It's a pretty rose shade and the formula is non-drying. The eyeliner is matte black and has a built-in smudger to create a sexy feline smolder.

Buried Treasure Eyeshadow Palette - $47 CAD
This palette contains ten shadows that are ideal for creating everyday looks. The shadows contain a new Rainforest of the Sea formula and "conditioning coconut" making the texture velvety smooth. There is a mix of mattes and micro-shimmers. They are also arranged in an island mosaic pattern and have cute pirate names. As much as I love this pattern, some shadows are smaller in size than the others. The creamy powder blends very easily into the lids however they are very light in colour. The shades are very pretty but most of them show up almost sheer like. A primer is definitely needed to get the most out of the shades. I did notice fading after four hours of wear. For the price and the colour payoff, I don't think this palette is a must-have.
These are just a few items in Tarte's holiday collection. I love the fun designs they came up with this year for their packaging. If I had to choose one of the above, I would recommend The Big Blush Book. I know size and price may be an issue for some but they also have a new blush wheel palette that is more compact in size and retails at a better price point. The Treasure Box Set is a great gift option for the value. This would be great for someone that is just starting off with makeup or is looking to try out Tarte products without splurging on individual items. I'm pleased with everything in the set. I love the bronzers and the lip paint but I wish the matte shadows had more staying power. As for the Buried Treasure Eyeshadow Palette, if you're a makeup collector and love pretty patterns like me, you want this palette just for that reason. I do see myself using it for everyday looks for work.
You can shop the Tarte Delight collection at Sephora, Ulta and Tartecosmetics.com.
Have you picked up anything from this collection?
