Huda Beauty The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette - Review, Photos & Swatches
Hi Beauties!
Huda Beauty has shaken up the beauty industry yet again with her newest release last month. The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette has joined the Huda family along with Desert Rose and Rose Gold as a part of the permanent collection. This palette is not your typical nude palette with its unexpected hues and finishes that haven’t been seen before. Huda Kattan stated she loves nudes but wanted to reinvent the concept of nude for women to feel empowered and sexy when they wear this palette. She came up with soft berry hues, dusty copper shades, rosy pinks, and golden taupes. It contains a good mix of cool and warm tones. I tried to convince myself that the shades in this palette were dupable because to be honest it’s quite pricey. However, after swatching it in stores, I knew I had to have it. Thankfully I was able to grab it during the Sephora VIB sale. The palette retails for $85 CAD and $65 USD.
The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette contains 18 shades in matte and shimmer formulas. As well as multi-reflective shadows with iridescent pearl chunks. With 10 matte shadows formulated with aloe vera and coconut oil for butter-like application. They’re creamy, highly pigmented and blend into the skin with no issues. They also don’t bleed into each other. Tickle and Lace are my favourite matte lid shades however I find the matte shades fade within 6-7 hours on my lid. They don’t last an entire work day which is a little disappointing. There are 4 reflective shades that leave a stunning duo-chrome finish. They look chunky in the pan but are super soft and apply best with your fingers. The pigmentation on these are out of this world. All four are equally beautiful. I tried applying these with glitter glue but it’s not needed. It just made the shadow appear thick and chunky. The reflective shades have long lasting wear. There are two glitter shades, Excite and Infatuated, which I would use glitter glue before it gets messy. The swatches below were applied with no glue. I can’t wait to wear Excite for the holidays. Then there is one pressed pearl shade that contains acacia, jojoba, and sunflower wax for a high-shimmer finish. This shade can be layered on top of the mattes. Lastly, there is a concealer base called Concealed. It can be used has a base for the eyeshadows. I often forget about this shade because I’m use to using another eye base. It contains enough pigment to neutralize the pigmentation on my lids but not pigmented enough to create a cut crease.
Overall, I’m really loving the New Nude Palette and I’m glad I picked it up. The mauve and reflective shades are what drew me to this palette and they did not disappoint. Even though the palette pulls more mauve, you can also create neutral looks with the warm taupes and coppers. The reflective shadows allow for effortless sparkly eye-looks instantly with one swipe of the finger. The brand’s matte formula has come a long way and I’m impressed with the pigmentation. The New Nude Palette is definitely a winner in my books.
