Marc Jacobs Fantasy Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter

For summer 2018, Marc Jacobs has revamped two of their iconic products for the new Coconut Fantasy Collection. The original collection debuted last year (reviewed here). The Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter is now available in a second shade, Fantasy. Inspired by Marc's love for coconut water and the youthful radiant glow, he created a coconut infused gel-cream highlighter. The highlighter contains 5 forms of coconut and provitamin B5 to help hydrate and nourish skin. It retails for $55 CAD and $44 USD at Sephora.

When I first saw the new shade, I knew it would be better for my skin tone than the original. It is a warm rose-gold with a shimmer finish. However, it's not overly sparkly, it has a pearly sheen. It looks more like a pink copper shade but I find the shade fades when you blend it in. With sheer to medium coverage, you can easily build up the intensity. The texture isn't too runny or thick so it glides on smoothly. I like to dab it on with my fingertips and apply it with a beauty blender to the high points of my face. I suggest you blend quickly before it dries. One full pump is too much to highlight my face. It can also be added to other cream/liquid products like foundation or primer. I mainly use it as a base for my powder highlights. You can use it alone for a glowing from within radiance. For no makeup - makeup days, I mix it with the Under(cover) Coconut Primer and it leaves a smooth veil and blurs small imperfections. It doesn't emphasize any of my skin's texture and lasts all day. It can also be used for a subtle body glow.

As we are experiencing the summer climates, Marc Jacobs has us covered with this tropical collection. The Dew Drops are so lightweight and perfect for summer when you want to look dewy and glowing. I also enjoy using the Coconut Setting Spray; it feels so refreshing. I much prefer the Fantasy shade over Dew You? It is quite pricey but a little goes a long way and will last a long time.
