YSL Volupté Plump-in-Colour Lipstick - Review, Photos & Swatches

YSL Beauty has announced the first line up in their spring 2019 collection, the Volupté Plump-in-Color Plumping Lip Balm. It looks like a lipstick but it’s a lip balm that adds volume and a rich shine to the lips. There is a unique black heart in the center of the lipsticks. It is a duo-tone balm but don’t worry the heart won’t leave any black streaks. The black heart contains cool and refreshing peppermint oil and black pearl powder to plump the lips. The outer side of the lipstick is the classic Rouge Volupté Shine formula that adds a light colour and shine. The formula also contains antioxidants, vitamins, coconut and pomegranate oil and hyaluronic acid to lock in moisture and aids to soften, smooth and hydrate lips. The Volupté Plump-in-Color Plumping Lip Balm retails for $45 CAD and $39 USD at Sephora, yslbeauty.ca and other retailers that carry the brand (see below). These lipsticks can be engraved if you purchase it from YSL.

The Volupté Plump-in-Color Plumping Lip Balm debuts in eight shades and I have five to share with you. All of the shades are fresh and light which are perfect for spring. The silver tube is so gorgeous. It features the brand’s logo and the colour of the balm on the inside. They smell amazing, kind of like a fruity scent. The Volupté Plump-in-Color has a natural sheer finish as do most balms. I do need to add a few layers to build up the colour. The colours look lighter on my lips than how it appears in the tube. Upon first application there is some some mild tingling but still comfortable. It feels minty and refreshing on the lips. There is some plumping but not much. I really like how nourishing they are, my lips feel so soft and moisturized when I wear it. The formula is very smooth and not sticky. It wears off in a few hours and fades to a nice lip stain. These are perfect for when I’m running errands or going to the gym and I just want a sheer wash of colour.
