Huda Beauty Neon Orange Obsessions Palette: Review, Photos & Swatches

I’ve been obsessing over the neon trend since early spring and was so excited when Huda Beauty released a range of neon Obsession eyeshadow palettes. I’ve been eyeing these palettes since they were released but couldn’t make my mind up. The available colour themes are neon orange, neon green, and neon pink. The Neon Orange Palette was the only one in the range that I was drawn to and the shades seemed more versatile. Each palette contains nine shades in a mix of matte, metallic and shimmer finishes. The Neon Obsessions palettes retail for $37 CAD/$29 USD at Sephora.

The palettes are housed in translucent neon casing to match the shades on the inside. The packaging is much sturdier than the previous cardboard packaging on the Obsession palettes. It also comes with a good size mirror on the inside. The pressed pigments in the Neon Orange palette are bright and vibrant and remind me of the tropics. There are six mattes and 3 metallic shades in bold yellow, oranges and pinks. The mattes are highly pigmented and blend well. I noticed slight fading after application so you have to layer or pack on shades especially the matte yellow. I wish these shadows had names on the back of the palette so I can refer to them better. The shimmers were a little harder to pick up some colour. They apply best with your fingertips or wet brush. The neon green metallic shade is gorgeous and looks so pretty as an inner corner highlight. Many of the shades contain red and yellow colour additives that are not safe for the eye area. I didn’t have any issues but if you have sensitive eyes just be careful. Overall, I love the pigmentation and vibrancy of all the shades in this palette. Even though summer is almost over, I will definitely be taking this palette on vacation with me. The size is also perfect for on-the-go.
