Charlotte Tilbury Eye Colour Magic Collection - Review, Photos & Swatches

Make your eyes magic with Charlotte Tilbury’s new Eye Colour Magic Collection. The collection features four colour co-ordinated Luxury Palettes and eyeliners to enhance and define your eyes. Inspired by colour matching, Charlotte has chosen contrasting and harmonious hues for every eye colour. Each colour theme was created to help the illusion of sparkling, brighter-looking eyes. “Make blue eyes look bluer, hazel eyes look gold, green eyes look greener and brown eyes look amber with these eye-enhancing icons”. The outer packaging matches the shades on the inside. Charlotte doesn’t often go outside of her burgundy boxes but these colourful boxes in blue, green, copper and maroon are so pretty. Each quad retails for $66 CAD and $35 CAD for the eyeliners. Both are currently available for sale at charlottetilbury.com. The brand also offers Eye Kits that combine a quad, liner and mascara.

Copper Charge Luxury Palette

Copper Charge contains gold, rose and russet brown hues. These shades are meant to play with the light to make blue eyes pop and brown eyes glow. Copper is on the opposite side of blue on the colour wheel and it makes blue eyes look bigger. I have brown eyes and I really like how these tones compliment my eyes.

Mesmerising Maroon Luxury Palette

Mesmerising Maroon Palette features rich hues of violet, purple and maroon. Developed to create colour magic with green eyes or enhance hazel eyes. Green is universally flattering and is in the centre of the colour wheel therefore these tones make the perfect contrast, making green eyes look greener. The shadows in this palette are so pigmented especially the metallic shade that looks beautiful on the lid. The shimmer shades are great as a topper, brow and inner corner highlight.

Super Blue Luxury Palette

Super Blue palette features with metallic gold, deep navy and shimmering blue shades to enhance the light in brown eyes. The tones help brown eyes pop and “sparkle for a lit from within amber effect. Brown eyes pair beautifully with sapphire and navy hues. In that case, I should wear these tones more often. You don’t have to have brown eyes to wear this palette because it will look good on everyone. I found the navy shade in this palette was difficult to blend without fading in colour. Green Lights Luxury Palette

Green Lights also known as The Rebel Palette (same shades), features glowing gold and khaki-green shades. This palette can be used to dial-up hazel eyes and make them pop. Hazel eyes are a blend of greens, browns and golds and the Green Lights Palette could make them appear more golden. You don’t have to be hazel-eyed to rock this palette as it will look good on everyone. I love wearing olive shades and all these shades look beautiful with my brown eyes. The shimmers look so pretty on the lids.

Green Lights and Super Blue Luxury Palette

Eye Colour Magic Liner Duo

A matte and metallic duo line that lights up your eyes when paired with the Eye Colour Magic Palettes. Charlotte says you can use the matte end to add shape and depth and the metallic end in the inner corners and along the lower and upper lash line to make the eyes look bigger and brighter. They were created to be like a Beauty Light Wand for the eyes to give an instant sparkle effect. There are four liner duos that match the four eye palettes perfectly. I love that they have a matte and metallic end because I don’t own anything like it. I can create plenty of looks combining the two finishes and you can even use them as a base. They amp up and intensify any look. The formula is smudge-proof, waterproof & humidity-proof. They dry down quickly making it difficult to blend out especially on the lower lash line.

Copper Charge, Mesmerising Maroon, Green Charge and Super Blue

I love the concept behind this line. Who doesn’t want to change or enhance their eye colour? I know I do. With my brown eyes, all these palettes work on me. They would look good on everyone. You don’t need to go with one particular palette over another due to your eye colour. It’s hard for me to pick a favourite but I do like Mesmerising Maroon, Green Lights and Super Blue. However, Super Blue is not an everyday palette. Copper Charge is a pretty neutral everyday palette and would complement other palettes well. Charlotte’s quads take the guesswork out of which shades you should pair together. The curated foursome shades are enough to complete an entire eye look. The formula is on par with what I’ve come to expect from the brand. The mattes are pigmented and blendable. The metallics are creamy and apply best with your fingers. Some shimmers need more building than others but they add a nice touch to the lids as a topper.
