Urban Decay Heavy Metal Holiday Collection - Heavy Metals Metallic Eyeshadow Palette, Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliners and Vice Metal Meets Matte Lipstick Palette Review & Swatches
Hi Beauties!
Just in time for the holidays, Urban Decay is giving us all the glitz and glam with their limited edition holiday collection. The Heavy Metal Collection features the Heavy Metals Metallic Eyeshadow Palette, Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliners and Vice Metal Meets Matte Lipstick Palette. To my surprise, I was sent this collection as PR to review and I will be sharing my review along with swatches for all the above-mentioned products.
Heavy Metals Metallic Eyeshadow Palette - $72 CAD/$66 USD
The limited edition Heavy Metals Palette was inspired by modern art and it features all new and exclusive shades. All 20 shades are metallic and come in a new formula said to be Urban Decayβs most amped-up metallic shadows yet. The purple crushed metal case is quite unique. It resembles a matchbox and it slides open to reveal a shadow tray which is meant to be held like a painterβs palette. The packaging itself is not that practical or travel-friendly due to the bulkiness of the palette but it's gorgeous. It also includes a big mirror in the centre of two eyeshadow panels. On the left, there are vivid brights and on the right is gorgeous neutrals. I love the pops of colour and I appreciate the earth tone shades. It's the best of both worlds for all beauty lovers. This palette can be used to create endless metallic shades. The eyeshadows feel velvety smooth and are highly pigmented. They are creamy, blend easily and long lasting. I use my fingers to apply them but you can also use a wet brush. The swatches below were applied dry with one finger swipe.

Vice Metal Meets Matte Lipstick Palette - $45 CAD/$35 USD
The Vice Metal Meets Matte is a limited edition lipstick palette that features 12 must-have shades of Vice Lipstick. Six of those shades are brand new. The palette features "dark, sultry hues to failsafe neutrals to bold brights". The shades are organized by finish and colour family with the six metallics up top and six coordinating matte shades on the bottom. The palette comes in a beautiful purple case similar to the Heavy Metals Palette. Once opened it includes a saizable mirror and a retractable lip brush. It has a clear cover to protect the shades inside. The lipsticks have the same formula as the Vice Lipsticks and they are just pigmented and moisturizing but a little less creamy. The bottom row is right up my alley; I love the dusty mauve and pink shades. You can mix and match each lipstick to create a custom shade. I personally don't reach for my lipstick palettes or use a lip brush.

Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner - $23 CAD/$20 USD
Lastly, in this collection is the Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliners. It is a water-based buildable liquid liner that contains super-fine glitter in a clear base. It contains peach, carrot and cucumber extract to condition the skin. The applicator is very fine which allows for a precise application with no fallout. I already own two of these liners and I love using it to amplify any look. It can be used to create fine glitter lines or use the side of the brush to sweep some sparkle over the lids. Even though I haven't tried this, you can even take off the cover to get more glitter and apply it with your fingers. I love the new shades that they have added to this line; there is a beautiful array of shades. The Heavy Metal Liners are my favourite glitter liner on the market. The gel formula doesn't allow the glitter to separate in the bottle and they don't dry out after time.
