Anastasia Beverly Hills - Prism Palette: Review, Photos and Swatches
Hi Beauties!
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Prism Palette is holiday eye shadow collection. It features 14 shades of neutrals and prismatic metallics. It includes ultra-matte, duo chrome and metallic finishes in peachy hues, rich neutrals and bold cool tones. I was really sceptical about picking up this palette as I wasn't fond of the previous palette, Subculture (reviewed here). However, I was drawn to the warm toned colours in this palette and decided to give it a try. Now did it work for me? Keep reading to find out!
The palette comes in a matte black box that is quite nice. The palette itself has a felt cover similar to the Subculture Palette in black with gold accents. If you know me, you know I love to wear shimmers and glitter on my lids. Unfortunately, the shimmers in this palette don't perform well when using a brush. They are dry and have little to none pigment. Even with a base and wet brush, I'm wasn't impressed. They perform best when using your fingertip. Dimension is my favourite shade and Thorne looks so festive and would be perfect for a holiday day. The mattes perform well and they blend easily although, some are drier than others. The seemingly vivid yellow shade Sphere was not so vivid when I wore it in my inner corner. There was hardly any pigmentation on my skin tone and it faded rapidly. I wish the shade Obsidian was more black. It is stiff and has semi-sheer finish even though it is described as an ultra-matte black. After trying and loving the ABH's Modern Renaissance Palette and the Master Palette by Mario, my standards from the brand are quite high. To my dismay, the Prism Palette is not on par when compared to those two palettes. The colours are pretty and they go well together. I know many others like the Prism Palette and that's great it worked for some. I don't hate the palette but it wasn't a hit for me especially for $55 CAD. Thankfully I picked up this palette during the VIB sale.
