May 2017 Beauty Favourites
Hi Beauties!
I'm trying to stay on top of my beauty favourites series so I'm back this month with May's favourites. I tend to use the same face products over and over again so you won't see many new items in that category but I do like to try out different eye and lip products. This month you will see some of those items as well as some highlighters and skincare. Keep reading to see what I've been loving.
Pixi Glow Tonic-to-Go:
I love the original liquid Glow Tonic because it leaves my skin looking clear and smooth. I've been using the on-the-go version for the past month and I love it. It comes with 60 pre-soaked pads that brighten, hydrate and gently exfoliate. The Glow Tonic does not contain oil or alcohol but does have 5% Glycolic Acid which helps with the exfoliation. The pads come quite saturated and I never experienced any drying. For me (probably because I'm too lazy) it's much easier to grab a pad than to soak a cotton pad with the liquid tonic. I've been using it more for daily use than for travel. You can shop Glow Tonic-to Go here.
Tarte Spellbound Sprinkle Face & Body Glitter: (Reviewed here)
This highlighter has been a must when I'm going for that full glam look or filming for YouTube. It looks stunning when the light hits the cheek bones, especially on camera and in photos. I apply a little amount with a wet brush as a topper to powder highlights. As stated in my previous review, a little goes a long way. You just need a little amount to achieve a gorgeous glow. You can shop this here.
NYX DUO Chromatic Illuminating Powder - Lavender Steel: (Reviewed here)
Ok, so you probably already know that I love the iridescent unicorn glow and purple highlighters. This is a new one in my collection and it is a drugstore one, might I add. Lavender Steel is a soft lavender with pink and lavender duo-chromatic pearls. It applies best with a wet brush but even so it's not a blinding highlight. It gives a pretty subtle glow while adding a touch a colour to the cheeks. You can shop these highlighters here.
Mac Love in the Glades Palette: (Swatched here)
This palette was released as part of the Fruity Juicy Collection. I was able to get my hands on this palette before it released and had the opportunity to wear it a couple times. I don't own any other palette like this i my collection and I really love the emerald green shade, 'Neoprene Green'. This shade applied better pressed then swept. Overall, all shades had good pigmentation with long lasting wear.
Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner:
These liners are not new to the market but I've have been using them a lot lately. It is a water-based liner that contains fine glitter in a clear base. The thin brush allows for a precise glitter line. I have shades Glamrock (silver) and Midnight Cowboy (beige) and I've been using them to jazz up my eye looks by adding a double glitter liner. You can also use the side of the brush to apply it all over the lids. Shop here.
Smashbox Be Legendary Liquid Lip: Petal Metal:
Petal Metal is a metallic rose gold shade which is a liquid lipstick that provides a high shine finish. This is a must have if you like the metallic lip trend. I use this one as a lip topper in the center of my lips over nude and pink lipsticks. It adds dimension and makes my lips appear fuller. You can shop more shades here.
Mac Cha-Cha-Cha Cremesheen Glass (Swatched here)
Cha-Cha-Cha is warm peachy pink gloss with a cream finish that was included in the Summer 2017 Fruity Juicy limited edition collection. It wears comfortably and is non-sticky. You can shop this and more shades here.
Do you see any of your favourites above? What have you been loving this month?
