SHAYLA X COLOURPOP Collection - Review, Photos and Swatches
Hi Beauties!
The long awaited Shayla x ColourPop collection created with Youtuber Shayla Mitchell was released on April 27th. It took me three weeks to get my package from the date I ordered it and then I had to pay duties once it arrived. Nonetheless, I'm happy to finally have the entire collection in my hands. I've been testing it out and can't wait to share my thoughts with you today. Everything in the collection is so Shayla, from the colours of the packaging to the names of the products. The collection includes an eyeshadow palette, three lipsticks, a gloss and two loose highlighters. Everything you need to Strut 'n Slay! (in Shayla's voice). Each item can be purchased individually or bought in a bundle for $59 for the complete collection on colourpop.com. The collection sold out pretty quickly the first time around but it has been restocked and is currently still available.
The limited edition palette includes 16 shades of warm neutrals to cool brights. There is a mix of matte and metallic finishes. It comes in a matte black packaging with purple and rose gold paint splatter. Shayla named this palette Perception because when you look at paint (artwork), everyone perceives it differently but all can relate. She didn't just create a palette for her skin tone but for all skin tones. The colour range is amazing. You have your essential matte transition neutrals, rose hues, smokey plums and bright pops of colour. You can "transform your look from a soft daytime slay to a bold and fierce night out look with one palette". The shadows are richly pigmented and blend well. The mattes wear for about 8 hours before fading. The shimmers are very soft almost cream like and apply best in a patting motion or with the fingertips. I found these crease on my lids and fade quickly when applied with my fingertips. Using a synthetic brush helped me with this issue. Thic is my go-to matte crease shade; it is a vibrant orange shade that looks beautiful in the crease. Revenge and Culture are great crease shades as well. September and Strut n' Slay are amongst my fav lid shades. Unbothered is another pretty lid shade. It looks ivory in the pan but looks like a soft gold on me. I love that she named one of the shades after her fallen dog Titus which is a gunmetal shade that looks good in the outer v for cool toned smokey looks. Sassy is another unique shade, it has a reddish-brown base with green-to-teal. There are so many good colour options to create a variety of looks with this palette.

Shayla Lux Lipstick - $7
There are three lipsticks in the Shayla Collection - a nude, coral and mauve lip. The packaging and the star embossment on the lipsticks are so cute! This is the first time trying the Lux lipsticks and they are creamy and glide on so smoothly. Each lipstick contains the LUX blend of acai, jojoba and pomegranate seed butters to hydrate and nourishes the lips. They feel soft and very comfortable to wear. Pigmentation is also great, leaving an opaque satin finish. Quickie is a peachy nude shade. I was afraid this shade would be too light for me and I was right. However, it looks good with the gloss in this collection. Oouuuu is a warm peach shade. I love this shade but the texture makes it settle in my lip lines. C'mon Sis is described as a soft pinky brown. It looks like a mauve on me and it probably looks the best on me out of the three.
Ultra Glossy Lip - $6
Neat Freak is the high shine gloss in this collection. It is peachy champagne with pink and gold glitter. It smooths and conditions lips and isn't sticky. It looks lovely on top all of the lipsticks in this collection.
Luster Dust Loose Highlighter - $7
Colourpop has created their very first loose highlighter. The Luster Dust Loose Highlighter contains finely milled soft powder that contains pearls and high shine particles. There are two different shades in this collection and they will keep you glowing all day. Both shades look amazing on my tan complexion. With any loose highlighter, a little goes a long way. You can use a fan brush for a more sheer glow or a fluffy brush for an intense glow.
Pose - Warm copper
Boomin' - Peachy gold
Overall, I really impressed with the Shayla x Colourpop Collection. I would definitely recommend the Perception Eyeshadow Palette and the two highlighters. Perception has many beautiful shades to create a variety of looks. There is a good enough mix of mattes and metallics. The highlighters are stunning and provide a boomin highlight. The Creme Lux lipsticks also have a great formula. They are pigmented and comfortable to wear. Everything in the collection is priced very affordable but I wish I didn't have to pay duties.
